Westside Waste Water Treatment Plant
    Mission:
    Provide the citizens and businesses of High Point with a means to dispose of collective wastewater and to protect the environment through effective wastewater and residuals treatment in accordance with the rules set forth through the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) State permit and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Westside WWTP
    Purpose for division:
    1. Maintain and enforce compliance of State and Federal regulations.
    2. Monitor flow streams.
    3. Perform quality assurance tests.
    4. Monitor contractor operations.

    Services provided by division:
    This division protects water quality by optimally treating wastewater, monitoring wastewater discharges and maintaining the facility and equipment related to process operation.

    Projects:

    • Repair and replace incoming sewer lines from Lexington Avenue to the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant.
    • Perform repairs on the grit collection system.

    Miscellaneous Information about division:
    The Westside WWTP is located at 1044 West Burton Road in Thomasville. The plant has been operational at its present site since 1929.
