    Princess for a Day

    Fee:$5.00 per person
    Have your little princess join us with their imaginations to create fabulous tiaras and wands to play with. We will have time to make multiple projects, play and have a light snack. Registration is required.

Athletics

    Bumble Bee Basketball

    Deadline for enrollment: 9/30/10
    This is a league for ages 3 and 4 designed to teach sportsmanship and teamwork. We strive to get children involved in athletics at an early age by teaching them to work together as a team. It helps with sharing and getting them acquainted with other children. Our goal is for them to learn the basics of basketball, meet new friends and work together while having fun. There is no pressure put on them since the score is not an issue. Each participant will receive their own mini basketball, T-shirt and medal.

    Pee-Wee Flag Football

    Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
    October 2, 2010 - November 6, 2010
    6-8p.m. (Tuesday & Thursday); 10a.m.-12p.m. (Saturday) 
    Fee:$30.00 per person
    Deadline for enrollment: 09/30/10
    This league is a great way to introduce your child to the game of football. Focus is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun. For ages 5-7.

Camps

    After School Program

    Monday-Friday
    2:30-6p.m. 
    Fee:$125.00 per month
    This is a program that caters to elementary school children. We will pick up your child from school by van transportation and bring them to a safe program site. We have a structured program that consists of gym time, snack time, homework time, craft time and organized play inside and outside. Call for more information and to find out which schools we provide transportation for our program. Program runs throughout the school year.

    "Just Once" Classes for Guitar

    Fee:$30.00 per person + $29.00 Materials Fee
    Instructor: Jason Bunch
    Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment and you won't have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Bring your acoustic guitar. Class is limited to 15 students, age 13 and up.

    AHOY Exercise Program

    This is a chair exercise program for seniors to keep their flexibility and health.

    Family Kickball

    Attention families!! Come out and enjoy a game of kickball with adults versus children.

    Starlight Dancers

    Thursday
    5:45-7p.m. 

    Fee:Registration Fee - $15.00 per person; $20.00 per month
    Instructor: Cathy Kirby
    Students will be taught Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and African Dance. Students will participate in several parades and special events. A one-time registration fee includes a Starlight Dancer T-shirt. Leotards and tights are required. Students will need to be in proper black dance attire. Rules will be posted and students will need to adhere to classroom etiquette for dance. Contact Morehead Recreation Center at 883-3506 for session dates. Classes start September 16.

    Teen Dance Crew

    Thursday
    4:30-5:45p.m. 

    Fee:$20.00 per month
    Instructor: Cathy Kirby
    Teens, sign up today to advance your skills of Krumping, Break Dancing, Popping and Locking, Hip Hop and African Dance. Dance Crew will participate in the A&T parade, High Point Holiday Parade, Black History Month programs and various competitions. Classes start September 16.

    Walkers Club

    Tuesday & Thursday
    10-11a.m. 

    Seniors are encouraged to come out and walk laps in our air conditioned gym. 18 laps = 1 mile. Come walk and fellowship with friends prior to our exercise class that follows. You may walk 1 lap or 5 miles, but every bit helps keep you fit.
