Greenway Trail System

Greenways are linear parks of land left in a natural state that provide an enjoyable course for walking, jogging, biking, and skating. Many greenways are built along the banks of rivers, streams, and lakes. High Point has over 9 miles of greenways and more are planned as the Bicentennial Greenway will connect High Point and Greensboro.

Regulations: Unauthorized motor vehicles prohibited.

Hours: Sunrise to sunset. Alcoholic beverages, drugs, and weapons are prohibited. Dogs must be kept on leashes at all times. Bikes must stay on trails to avoid damage to vegetation and wildlife habitat.

Greenway Sections:
A) Armstrong Park to Carlisle Way - approximately 3 miles
B) 311 Bypass to Deep River Road - approximately 1/2 mile
C) Gibson Park to Piedmont Center - approximately 6 miles

The greenway can be accessed at Armstrong Park, Kirkman Park School, McCain Park, the Little Red School House, Gibson Park, Piedmont Parkway and the Piedmont Environmental Center.
