Deep River Recreation Center consists of a 18' x 22' game room, 22' x 23' craft room, 46' x 35' large multipurpose room, 2 sets of restrooms and a regulation size gymnasium.
The surrounding park features 2 lighted baseball/softball fields with bleachers, 1 lighted baseball field with bleachers, 3 unlighted tennis courts, an outdoor basketball court, playground, restroom/concession building, picnic shelter, and unlighted multipurpose athletic field.
The Center offers a wide variety of recreation programs for all ages and abilities. Deep River Recreation Center is also available for the public to rent space for special occasions, Holidays and special events.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony are currently being planned and those plans will be announced in the coming weeks.

We provide a safe and fun environment for your child. There will be free time, arts & crafts, organized activities and homework time. Parents are responsible for snacks.

| AHOY - Silver Strides Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30-10:30a.m. Information & Registration Calling all Seniors! Come out to enhance your fitness. Come and walk, jog or run. We will do 45 minutes of conditioning followed by a group exercise. Group exercise may consist of dance aerobics, traditional aerobics or chair aerobics. Bring a friend to walk with.

| Deep River Daze - All Day Program October 28, 2010 October 29, 2010 December 22, 2010 December 23, 2010 February 11, 2011 7:30a.m.-6p.m. Fee:$15.00 per person/per day Information & Registration Looking for a fun and safe place for your child to hang out on those teacher workdays? Bring them to Deep River Daze. This is a program that provides arts and crafts, local field trips (additional fee), and guest speakers. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their child's lunch and two snacks. Space is limited, so register your child early. Fees are due at time of registration.

| Dodgeball Madness: Dodge Obesity Saturday September 25, 2010 October 23, 2010 November 27, 2010 10a.m.-1p.m. (Games start at 10:30a.m.) Informational Poster Dodge obesity and help encourage physical activity. Come and play a competitive game of dodgeball and help support childhood obesity organizations as we collectively fight this epidemic. Gather your teams and dodge for a cause. Team size is 6-10 people; ages 17-27.

| Fall Health & Fitness Extravaganza Saturday October 9, 2010 11a.m.-4p.m. Information & Registration Wondering how you will stay on track with your diet and fitness plans during the holidays? Join us for our first annual fall health extravaganza. We will have organizations here to answer questions regarding holiday menus, exercise tips and more. There will be demonstrations of different types of exercise and fitness classes. We will have door prizes and free give-a-ways. Pre-registration is encouraged, but you may also register at the door. Registration is free, however; please bring items that will be given to our veterans at the Bill Heffner VA Medical Center located in Salisbury, NC. Please contact the Recreation Center to obtain a list of items needed. Interest vendors should call the Center at 883-3407 for information.

Come and play volleyball (9/25), dodgeball (11/20) and basketball (12/18) with your family. Depending on the number of participants, we will divide the teams evenly.

Come out and show off your basketball skills. Upon opening, the Deep River Recreation Center will offer open gym activities. We will have sign in boards for pick up games and a running clock so everyone can play.
