Evening with ARTS - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Tuesday October 19, 2010 5-7p.m.  You are invited to meet and greet area artists and art leaders. There will be a special display of some area artists, art supply resources and local places where art can be displayed will be identified. The High Point Fine Art Guild and Theatre Art Gallery will be represented. Drop in and enjoy the event.

Happytones Senior Chorus - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Tuesday 11:30a.m.  A chorus of seniors directed by Anne Eaton. Sing a variety of musical arrangements. There are no tryouts. If you like to have fun, enjoy social interaction and can put on a "happy face", then come to a rehearsal.

Motown Ballroom Dancing - Roy B. Princess for a Day - Morehead Recreation Center Saturday September 18, 2010 10-11:30a.m.  Fee:$5.00 per person Have your little princess join us with their imaginations to create fabulous tiaras and wands to play with. We will have time to make multiple projects, play and have a light snack. Registration is required.

Scrapbooking 101 - Deep River Recreation Center Saturday September 18, 2010 October 2, 2010 October 16, 2010 October 30, 2010 November 13, 2010 December 11, 2010 10a.m.-12p.m.  Fee:$20.00 per person Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to document your life. Come and learn the basics of how to construct a scrapbook. We will add a new element at each class. At the end of the class you will have a miniature scrapbook showcasing some of the events of your life. Supplies are included, but please provide your own pictures. 1st Annual High Point Police Department vs Greensboro Fire Department Charity Basketball Game - Allen Jay Recreation Center Saturday September 11, 2010 2-6p.m.  Fee:$2.00 per person or canned good donation Non-perishable food items will be donated to the City of High Point local food banks. This will be a game dedicated to fallen heroes in the line of duty.

2011 Youth Basketball League - Athletics Fee:$40.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 12/10/10 Sign up today for our annual Youth Basketball League. League divisions are ages 7 and 8, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under. Age is as of January 1, 2011. A certified copy of the participant's birth certificate is required when registering. You may register at any recreation center or the administration office at 136 Northpoint Avenue.

30 and Up 3 on 3 Basketball League - Oakview Recreation Center Tuesdays & Thursdays September 7, 2010 - October 15, 2010 6:30-9:30p.m.  Fee:$120.00 per team Get your team together for our 3 on 3 basketball league. This league is for men and women 30 and older.

Adult Men's and Women's Basketball League - Athletics Tuesday November 2, 2010 7p.m.  Fee:$450.00 per team Deadline for enrollment: 12/09/10 An organizational meeting for adult Basketball will be held at the Parks & Recreation Administration Office at 136 Northpoint Avenue. League includes Open, Recreational, Church and Industrial teams. Teams will play a minimum 12-game schedule with a single elimination tournament. Trophies will be awarded to team regular season champion with 12 individuals, team regular season runner-up, team tournament champion with 12 individuals, team tournament runner-up. NFHS basketball rules will be followed with modifications. Deadline for entry is December 9.

Adult Open Gym - Women's Basketball - Allen Jay Recreation Center Wednesday 6-8:30p.m.  Fee:$2.00 per person Calling all ladies ages 18 and up. Have you ever wished there was a basketball open gym just for you? Your wish has been granted. This will be a fun, no pressure way to have fun and get that all important exercise we all need.

Balling 4 Hope - Allen Jay Recreation Center Saturday & Sunday November 13, 2010 - November 14, 2010 8a.m.-6p.m.  Fee:$50.00 per team, $2.00 per person admission We will be hosting a 2-day, single elimination basketball tournament as a fundraiser to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. If you have a group that plays basketball or if you just want to watch the games, you would be doing your part. Come out and enjoy the games and get some education on breast cancer. We will have tables set up with helpful information.

Bumble Bee Basketball - Morehead Recreation Center Saturday October 2, 2010 - November 30, 2010 9:30a.m.-12p.m.  Fee:$35.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 9/30/10 This is a league for ages 3 and 4 designed to teach sportsmanship and teamwork. We strive to get children involved in athletics at an early age by teaching them to work together as a team. It helps with sharing and getting them acquainted with other children. Our goal is for them to learn the basics of basketball, meet new friends and work together while having fun. There is no pressure put on them since the score is not an issue. Each participant will receive their own mini basketball, T-shirt and medal.

Little Flags Football - Oakview Recreation Center Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday October 2, 2010 - November 20, 2010 6-7:30p.m. (Tuesday & Thursday); 10a.m.-12p.m. (Saturday)  Fee:$30.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 9/30/10 The program is a great way to introduce your child to the game of football. Our coaches teach the fundamentals of football and game rules. Participants will receive a T-shirt and trophy. This league focus is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship and fun. Shootin' Tots - Oakview Recreation Center Saturday October 2, 2010 - November 20, 2010 9:30a.m.-12p.m.  Fee:$35.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 9/24/10 Have you always wanted to give your little one the opportunity to get started early in Basketball? Now is your chance. We are taking registration for 3 & 4 year olds to learn the basics of basketball. Get ready to watch them make their first basket or maybe even a slam dunk.

Smart Start Basketball Program - Allen Jay Recreation Center Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday October 18, 2010 October 20, 2010 October 21, 2010 October 23, 2010 6-7:30p.m. (Weekdays); 10-11:30a.m. (Saturday)  Fee:$10.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 10/15/10 Calling all parents and children. Come out and join our Smart Start sports program. This will be a program is geared towards ages 5-7 with a series of sports specific camps on the basic fundamentals of basketball. Parent participation is mandatory.

The program includes homework time, arts and crafts, field trips, guest speakers, movies, physical and educational activities. Afternoon snack and transportation will be provided. Program runs during the school year.

After School Program - Morehead Recreation Center Monday-Friday 2:30-6p.m.  Fee:$125.00 per month This is a program that caters to elementary school children. We will pick up your child from school by van transportation and bring them to a safe program site. We have a structured program that consists of gym time, snack time, homework time, craft time and organized play inside and outside. Call for more information and to find out which schools we provide transportation for our program. Program runs throughout the school year.

After School Program - Oakview Recreation Center Monday-Friday 2:30-6p.m.  Fee:$125.00 per month This program provides a fun, safe environment for your child. Dedicated staff supervise participants as they complete homework, play gym and outside games, create arts and crafts projects, go on field trip and have special events. This program operates on days when school is in session.

Little Flags Football Camp - Oakview Recreation Center Monday & Wednesday September 27, 2010 September 29, 2010 6:30-7:30p.m.  Fee:$10.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 9/20/10 Bring the kids out for a fun, instructional 2 nights of Flag Football. This 2-day camp will help prepare participants for the upcoming Little Flags Football League by working on the basic skills needed to play.

Education

"Just Once" Classes for Guitar - Morehead Recreation Center Monday September 20, 2010 6:30-9p.m.  Fee:$30.00 per person + $29.00 Materials Fee Instructor: Jason Bunch Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time? In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment and you won't have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away. Bring your acoustic guitar. Class is limited to 15 students, age 13 and up.

After School Program - Deep River Recreation Center Monday-Friday 2:30-6p.m.  Fee:$125.00 per month Looking for somewhere fun and safe for your child to hangout after school? We provide a safe and fun environment for your child. There will be free time, arts & crafts, organized activities and homework time. Parents are responsible for snacks.

Allen Jay Youth on the Move - Allen Jay Recreation Center Monday September 20, 2010 October 18, 2010 5-5:30p.m.  It's not just all about getting paid, you need to volunteer your time as well. This program will help promote special events at Allen Jay Recreation Center in the community. Meeting is held the 3rd Monday of each month.

Beginner Knitting Class - Allen Jay Recreation Center Thursday September 9, 2010 - October 21, 2010 6:30-7:30p.m.  Instructor: A'Kaila Covington Learn the basics of knitting from casting on, knitting, increasing and decreasing, to binding. We will progress to a small project. You will need to supply your own materials. The needle should have a point with a cap or knob that prevents the stitches from falling off. A medium size needle (7cm) will be the appropriate size for a small project.

Computer Class - Intermediate Level - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Wednesday September 8, 2010 - September 29, 2010 October 6, 2010 - October 27, 2010 10a.m. or 11a.m.  Fee:$10.00 per person (65 and older); $12.00 per person (64 and under) Instructor: Gene Clodfelter To participate in this class you must know how to use the mouse and have knowledge of basic computer skills. Learn how to use a flash drive (student is responsible to bring your own flash drive), attach files to E-mail, clean up your computer, and send pictures from your cell phone to E-mail. CPR, First Aid and Safety - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Tuesday & Wednesday September 21, 2010 - September 22, 2010 September 28, 2010 - September 29, 2010 October 19, 2010 - October 20, 2010 October 26, 2010 - October 27, 2010 9:30-11a.m.  Fee:$10.00 - seniors; $35.00 - non-seniors Instructor: Cookie Jones-Peele A course in CPR and First Aid training will be conducted by an American Red Cross instructor. You will be trained how to act accordingly and follow the appropriate steps to help save a life. You will learn how to look for signs and respond to different situations such as victims suffering from a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stoke and choking; as well as deal with injuries, allergic reactions and seizures. Schedule: CPR - September 21 & 22, October 19 & 20; First Aid/Safety - September 28 & 29, October 26 & 27.

Daily Enrichment Program - Southside Recreation Center Monday-Thursday 3:30-4:30p.m.  This program will provide youth ages 5-10 with homework assistance, increase reading skills and group activities.

Day in the Park - High Point Youth Council Saturday September 18, 2010 11a.m.-5p.m.  Youth Council members will assist the Greater High Point Arts Council with this event. We will help operate the children's area, concessions and parking. Event is held at City Lake Park.

Deep River Daze - All Day Program - Deep River Recreation Center October 28, 2010 October 29, 2010 December 22, 2010 December 23, 2010 February 11, 2011 7:30a.m.-6p.m.  Fee:$15.00 per person/per day Looking for a fun and safe place for your child to hang out on those teacher workdays? Bring them to Deep River Daze. This is a program that provides arts and crafts, local field trips (additional fee), and guest speakers. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their child's lunch and two snacks. Space is limited, so register your child early. Fees are due at time of registration.

Dog Obedience - Oakview Recreation Center Tuesday September 14, 2010 - October 19, 2010 7-8p.m.  Fee:$35.00 per dog/per session Deadline for enrollment: 2nd Day of Session Instructor: Shirley Probert & Jean Wright Qualified instructors teach pet owners techniques to train their dogs using verbal and hand commands. Basic commands such as sit and stay, ways to walk with your dog, as well as socialization with other dogs and people are taught. Owners leave the class with a set of tools to better train their dogs. Participants must bring the pet's shot record, a 6' non-retractable leash, a choke collar and treats.

Family Literacy Day - Washington Terrace Park & Community Center Saturday November 13, 2010 11a.m.-2p.m.  What do the following groups have in common? High Point Ravens Semi Pro Football Team, High Point Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta and the EDOTT Reading Club. They are all supporters of the family and love to read. Come out to our "Family Literacy Day" dressed as your favorite team or in team colors. We will have special guests reading to the audience, inflatables, special drawings for fantastic prizes, light snacks, crafts and more. Come throw a couple of passes to the football players, speak with the local Guilford County Schools staff members, make a book for later reading enjoyment, and win prizes. There is something for all to enjoy. Let's make reading exciting!

Diane assists in providing simple wills, power of attorney and health care power of attorney. This is a free service provided to seniors and their family. Living Healthy with Chronic Conditions - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Thursday September 23, 2010 - October 28, 2010 1:30-4p.m.  Instructor: Connie Lawson This is an evidence based class that provides information on self-management of Heart Disease, Arthritis, Diabetes, Asthma, Bronchitis, Emphysema and other chronic conditions. If you are living with one of these diseases, this class is for you. It will provide skills and tools to live a more healthy life with chronic conditions. Our instructor is a Guilford County Public Health Department Community Health Educator. The class is free and a student workbook will be given to everyone who attends all six classes. The workbook is available for loan for those who do not attend all the classes or it can be purchased for $25.00.

Warning Signs of Dementia - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Friday October 22, 2010 11:15a.m.  Instructor: Debra Harrison Arcadia Healthcare is sponsoring a presentation on "Warning Signs of Dementia". Learn about the signs of dementia, how to respond and deal with the loved ones who may be experiencing this traumatic disease. Hunting and Fishing License - Oak Hollow Marina Now being sold at the Oak Hollow Marina.

Marina Hours and Information - Oak Hollow Marina Daily Hours of operation are based on daylight hours. The Marina has a classroom available to rent. We have bait and tackle available, along with ice, snacks, drinks and ice cream. Call the Marina for more information at 883-3494.

Night Fishing - Oak Hollow Marina Thursday Until 10:00p.m.  Oak Hollow Lake will be open for night fishing every Thursday until October 28. Pack a picnic and bring the family for an evening of fishing and fun.

Trolling Motors - City Lake Park Fee:$25.00 for 4 hours Trolling motors are now available for rent by the public for use on City Lake's rental boats. Available for only those who are fishing.

Fitness, Health

AHOY - Silver Strides - Deep River Recreation Center Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30-10:30a.m.  Calling all Seniors! Come out to enhance your fitness. Come and walk, jog or run. We will do 45 minutes of conditioning followed by a group exercise. Group exercise may consist of dance aerobics, traditional aerobics or chair aerobics. Bring a friend to walk with.

AHOY Adult Exercise - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10a.m.  Instructor: Nona Sink, Lois Harris Exercises appropriate for Seniors to include gentle stretching, range of motion and light cardio movement/low impact aerobics.

AHOY Exercise - Oakview Recreation Center Tuesday & Thursday 9-10:30a.m.  A basic fitness class offered to seniors ages 56 and up, to improve their health and fitness. These senior friendly exercises work to increase flexibility, circulation and overall health.

AHOY Exercise Program - Morehead Recreation Center Tuesday & Thursday 11-11:30a.m.  This is a chair exercise program for seniors to keep their flexibility and health.

AHOY Senior Exercise - Allen Jay Recreation Center Mondays & Wednesdays 10-11a.m.  Exercise program that will feature chair aerobics. Get a great total body workout without ever leaving your chair. Great for Senior citizens or those with limited mobility. Throughout the fitness class participants will use many exercise tools such as balls and bands as they exercise to music. Although many of the participants are fully ambulatory and independent in their lives, using a chair for exercise removes the danger and fear of falling. Please call ahead so we can obtain a head count, but you are more than welcome to just drop by.

Blood Pressure Screenings - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Monday 9:30-11a.m.  Free blood pressure checks on each Monday of the month, except 5th Monday. Blood Pressure is checked on a drop in basis. Forms are provided to track weekly readings. Screenings will not be done on holidays when the Senior Center is closed.

Bowling - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Monday 1p.m.  Fee:$1.00 per game Instructor: Effie Gay Bowlers meet every Monday afternoon at Brunswick Tarheel Lanes for fun and fellowship. This is an opportunity to meet new friends. Whether you are a beginner or advanced bowler, join in on the fun. Fee includes shoes.

Computer Class - Basics - Roy B. Dance This….Hip Hop/African Dance Class - Oakview Recreation Center Thursdays 6:30-7:30p.m.  Fee:$20.00 per month Instructor: Alana Frost Instructional dance class for youth ages 5-13 in hip-hop, african and jazz. This is a fun, energetic class where participants will learn moves, techniques and routines for a bi-annual recital. All levels of experience are welcome. Program will run on a monthly basis beginning August 5.

Dance Your Body Tone - Southside Recreation Center Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-7:30p.m.  Fee:$5.00 per person/per week Exercise without even realizing it! Come and enjoy an hour of fun and dance while you tone your body.

GO FAR - Oakview Recreation Center Monday & Wednesday; Race Day - Saturday September 13, 2010 - November 29, 2010 4-5p.m.  Fee:$15.00 per person Deadline for enrollment: 9/24/10 This program is for students currently in elementary and middle school. The program goal is to help each participant train for and complete a 5-kilometer road race while also promoting healthy living. Each program session will incorporate physical and mental training. Each week the participants will study a different topic that is aimed towards character building. Examples of these topics include sportsmanship, caring and responsibility. Each session during the week will also have a different theme that is designed to teach the participants life skills. Examples of these life skills include nutrition, self defense and proper and healthy exercise techniques. At the completion of the 10-week training, each participant will be given the opportunity to complete the 5-kilometer road race. Parents and family members are permitted and encouraged to complete the road race with their child. The race date is set by GO FAR and will be announced during training.

Jay Walkers - Allen Jay Recreation Center Monday-Friday 9-10a.m.  Need an indoor place to walk? Come and join our walking club. This group is composed of adults aged 50 and older that walk for fun and exercise. Waling is a great way to reduce the onset of many diseases. It can also help you manage your weight and lower cholesterol. Come and walk your way to better health.

Let's Move! - Allen Jay Recreation Center Saturday September 24, 2010 10a.m.-1p.m.  This is a program dedicated to ending childhood obesity. The program was created by First Lady, Michelle Obama to help kids get fit. We will team up with The Guilford County Health Department, Guilford County Health, Inc., and Healthy Habits Healthy Families. Activities of the day will consist of bowling, island hopping, spider crawl, dancing with streamers, simon says, group dancing, bean bag toss, 3-legged race and balloon badminton.

Line Dancing - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Tuesday 2-3p.m.  Instructor: Lois Harris Various line dances are taught that includes a lot of movement and exercise. The class is open to anyone with some line dancing experience. The class also has performances periodically at various nursing and retirement homes.

Lunch Time Hoops - Deep River Recreation Center Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:30a.m.-1:30p.m.  Fee:$2.00 per person Is your lunch time the only time you have for a workout? Come out and show off your basketball skills. Upon opening, the Deep River Recreation Center will offer open gym activities. We will have sign in boards for pick up games and a running clock so everyone can play.

Starlight Dancers - Morehead Recreation Center Thursday 5:45-7p.m.  Fee:Registration Fee - $15.00 per person; $20.00 per month Instructor: Cathy Kirby Students will be taught Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and African Dance. Students will participate in several parades and special events. A one-time registration fee includes a Starlight Dancer T-shirt. Leotards and tights are required. Walk the Walk - Allen Jay Recreation Center Monday-Sunday Come out and enjoy our newly built walking track. The track is approximately 1/2 mile long. Come out and get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors.

Walkers Club - Morehead Recreation Center Tuesday & Thursday 10-11a.m.  Seniors are encouraged to come out and walk laps in our air conditioned gym. 18 laps = 1 mile. Come walk and fellowship with friends prior to our exercise class that follows. You may walk 1 lap or 5 miles, but every bit helps keep you fit.

Weight Room - Southside Recreation Center Monday-Thursday 9a.m.-9p.m.  Universal weight stations for full body workout. Machines include 10 stations of equipment to exercise for lower and upper body.

WOW (Walking Off Weight) - Southside Recreation Center Monday-Friday 12-2p.m.  Adults will be able to use the gymnasium to walk/run laps during the morning and lunch hours. This program can be used to increase overall health and fitness.

Oak Holloween - Special Events Thursday October 28, 2010 5-8p.m.  A night of safe Halloween fun! Enjoy trick-or-treating in Oak Hollow Mall. Play booth games for $.50 per play. 10,000 Pennies for the Kids - Southside Recreation Center Monday-Saturday 9a.m.-9p.m. (Monday-Thursday); 9a.m.-6p.m. (Friday); 9a.m.-1p.m. (Saturday)  We will run a penny drive until November 23. During this time we have set a goal of 10,000 pennies which will equal $100.00. Once we meet this goal or more, we will purchase gifts for our Breakfast with Santa program.

AHOY Trip - Mountains - Morehead Recreation Center Thursday September 30, 2010 8a.m.-5p.m.  Take a scenic trip to the mountains to enjoy shopping, site seeing, fellowship and lunch.

Bingo - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center Wednesday 1p.m.  Fee:$1.00 per person Come out and play Bingo every Wednesday. You play 2 cards for 2 hours. There are a variety of Bingo games. Fall Health & Fitness Extravaganza - Deep River Recreation Center Saturday October 9, 2010 11a.m.-4p.m.  Wondering how you will stay on track with your diet and fitness plans during the holidays? Join us for our first annual fall health extravaganza. We will have organizations here to answer questions regarding holiday menus, exercise tips and more. There will be demonstrations of different types of exercise and fitness classes. We will have door prizes and free give-a-ways. Pre-registration is encouraged, but you may also register at the door. Registration is free, however; please bring items that will be given to our veterans at the Bill Heffner VA Medical Center located in Salisbury, NC. Please contact the Recreation Center to obtain a list of items needed. Interest vendors should call the Center at 883-3407 for information.

Family Fun Days! - Deep River Recreation Center Saturday September 25, 2010 November 20, 2010 December 18, 2010 11a.m.-1p.m.  Our Family Fun Days are designed with your family in mind. Come and play volleyball (9/25), dodgeball (11/20) and basketball (12/18) with your family. Depending on the number of participants, we will divide the teams evenly.

Farmer's Market - Roy B. Culler, Jr. Senior Center 7a.m.-10a.m.  Fee:Vendors - $5.00 (Saturdays), $4.00 (Wednesdays) for a space Our local Farmer's Market opens on Saturday, May 15. The Market will be open on Wednesdays & Saturdays beginning June 9. A variety of produce, home-made goods and flowers available. New vendors are welcome. Girl's All Night Out - Washington Terrace Park & Community Center Friday-Saturday September 10, 2010 - September 11, 2010 7p.m.-8a.m.  Fee:$10.00 per person Girls ages 6-10, join us for a night of planned activities to include a movie, bowling, cooking, mentoring and open discussion about how to start the school year off successfully. We will discuss what you look forward to this school year, what tools you need to be successful and how to maintain that success throughout the year.

Halloween Boozaar - Oakview Recreation Center Saturday October 30, 2010 6-8p.m.  Fee:$3.00 - Entry fee includes 8 tickets Bring out your kids for a fun, safe Halloween event. Carnival games will be set up in the gym for youth to play and win prizes and candy. Arts and crafts projects will be available as well as bingo for parents. Come dressed to impress. The evening will conclude with a costume contest at 7:45pm. Prizes will be awarded for scariest, funniest, cutest and most original. Additional carnival game tickets can be purchased for $0.25 each.

North State Law Enforcement Meeting - Washington Terrace Park & Community Center Wednesday September 15, 2010 October 20, 2010 6-8p.m.  Instructor: Gerald Robinson This is an organization of law enforcement individuals that work with the community to assist as mentors, volunteers and in partnership with agencies and departments to make our community a better place to live. Splash While it Lasts - Allen Jay Recreation Center Saturday September 4, 2010 9:30a.m.-12:30p.m.  If you are looking for a place to cool off, take advantage of our Splash While it Lasts. We will take a group of 13 to the Splash Pad located at Southside Recreation Center. Please pack a lunch, the recreation center will provide drinks. For ages 8-14.

Table Game Night - Washington Terrace Park & Community Center Thursday September 9, 2010 October 14, 2010 6-8p.m.  Youth and adults will come together to learn table games such as bid whiz, spades and more. Adults will love the rewards of keeping the brain cells alert by sharing the skills and techniques of playing cards. Other table games will be offered such as checkers, chess and backgammon.

Teen Fall Festival - Washington Terrace Park & Community Center Saturday October 9, 2010 7-10p.m.  Fee:$5.00 per person Youth ages 10-18 are invited to come and have a night of fun and games at our Teen Fall Festival. We will play various games and have activities where youth can win prizes and candy. Everyone has a sweet tooth and everyone loves to have fun with their peers. The first 20 to arrive will receive a special prize bag filled with goodies and at the close of the evening, 3 special youth will be contacted by phone (land line only) and win a special prize for being at home. The time of the call will not be disclosed.

Time to Be a Man - Allen Jay Recreation Center Saturday October 9, 2010 11a.m.-1p.m.  This will be a forum to discuss real life, everyday issues that men of all ages face daily. This will be a fun, yet serious program to help move both young and older men in a positive direction. A variety of tropics will be covered such as job skills, interpersonal skills, as well as relationships. If you are under 18, you must have a parent's signature to participate. Fathers are encouraged to attend with their sons. Minimum age requirement to attend is 16.

Trick or Trunk - Tailgating Halloween Party - Allen Jay Recreation Center Thursday October 28, 2010 6:30-8:30p.m.  Halloween is a traditional time for youth and adults. We are looking for people who love to hand out treats. We need cars, vans, hatchbacks or trucks. Yard Sale - Fall 2010 - Oakview Recreation Center Saturday October 9, 2010 Set up begins at 6a.m., 7a.m.-12p.m.  Fee:$7.00 per space, $3.00 per table Deadline for enrollment: 10/06/10 Our bi-annual yard sale is the place to be. Come out to buy inexpensive items for your home or garden. Our 25 sellers provide a great one stop shopping opportunity for the ultimate yard sale buyers. Vendors must register for a space. Vendors must be set up by 7a.m.; no unloading after 7a.m.
