| Loaner Rod Program This innovative program, started by NC Wildlife, is designed to introduce kids to fishing without the expense of buying equipment. A parent or guardian completes a form for a child (ages 15 and under) to receive a loaner rod card, much like a library card. This card allows the child to borrow a fishing rod any time they visit the lake. Children registering for the first time will receive a small tackle box to keep.
