LeeHuntCrime Statistics

Dr. Eleazer Hunt

Lee Hunt received his bachelor's, master's and PhD in Anthropology and Geography from State University of New York at Buffalo, NY.  Before coming to High Point in 2003, he worked with a mapping software company, designing and implementing crime analysis tools for law enforcement agencies around the world.

Lee provides a wealth of information crime in High Point not only to support police operationsl, but to the general public.  Our P2C (Police to Citizen) program, which allows individuals to both report a crime and print out a copy of a report, and CrimeView, which allows residents to map recent crime anywhere in the city, are examples of the High Point Police Department's commitment to open, accessible information sharing.

It should be noted that,  by law, there is certain information which cannot be made public.  HPPD goes to great lengths to protect individuals' privacy; we will not divulge information which is protected.

Weekly crime statistics are compiled and available for viewing; via this webpage you can also access North Carolina's Sex Offender Registry, the State Bureau of Investigation's statistics, and the U. S. Department of Justice's statistics site.

The Police Department has recently acquired three information kiosks which will be located in the Department's lobby, the Safe Haven at 400 Washington Drive, and the Southside Recreation Center.  From these user-friendly kiosks, citizens can download and print out copies of police reports provided they have the report number.
