TRAINING DIVISION

The High Point Fire Department's training division is responsible for researching, planning and conducting training sessions based on information related to the most current trends in firefighting, EMS, and Homeland Security.  Training is provided for all members of the department from rookie to chief officer rank.

Battalion Chief Rick George oversees this division.  The training division develops and delivers programs such as engine and ladder company operations, firefighter safety and survival skills, high-rise firefighting, emergency response, and special operations training to in-service personnel, as well as the High Point Fire Department's Fire Academy for new recruits.  A program is created for most any topic identified by both the company officers and the fire department administration.

 In addition to formal training classes, the division assists company officers by providing information in the form of safety bulletins and quick drills that firefighters can perform at their stations.
