Logistics:

High Point has the ideal location, the center of North Carolina's Piedmont Triad region. Traditional and newer, high technology companies thrive in High Point with proximity to major markets and more than half of the U.S. population, convenient access to a broad transportation network, and a well-trained, dependable labor force.

Chartered in 1859, High Point got its name by being 939' above sea level, the highest point on the N.C. Railroad where the longest plank road in the world, the Appian Way of North Carolina, crossed. Thanks to this strategic location, entrepreneurial spirit and skilled labor force, High Point citizens and business community continue their tradition of economic growth and diversity.

High Point's Corporate City limits currently totals 55+ square miles and is the only municipality in North Carolina that lies in four counties: Guilford, Davidson, Forsyth and Randolph. With a careful land use plan developed and annexation agreements with neighboring communities established, High Point is well positioned for expansion to the north, east and west, growing eventually to a total of 92 square miles.
