Windley
During the past year, the Windley Street Watch (WSNW) met on an every other month basis to discuss preventive ways to eliminate crime, drugs and domestic violence in their neighborhood. The watch is very active in reporting crime activities within the community and participated in the following activities:
- A meeting was held with the Windley Street Apartments owner and Project Managers to discuss loud noises, late night activities in and out of the apartments and the increase of drug trafficking.
- The WSNW observed "National Night Out" with residents of the area. Backpacks and school supplies were also distributed to resident youths and everyone participated in enjoying the hot dogs, homemade chili, chips and colas. An information packet about the Watch was distributed among the residents, inviting them to participate and become a member.
- Active members of the WSNW attended the Analysis of Impediments workshop sponsored by the Community Development and Housing Department.
